Redding residents are being asked to bring household hazardous waste to the Newtown Public Works Garage, 4 Turkey Hill Road, Newtown, on Saturday, May 19, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The garage is located at 4 Turkey Hill Road, Newtown. The event is being sponsored by the Housatonic Resource Recovery Authority (HRRA).
Materials to bring include paints, furniture polishes, lighter fluids, pesticides and herbicides, waste fuels, camera batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, and mercury thermometers and thermostats.
Materials that won’t be accepted: electronics, computers, household batteries, empty aerosol cans, ammunition, smoke detectors, fireworks, motor oil and antifreeze, and pharmaceutical or medical wastes.
